On-Site Lustre Systems Engineer

This position requires working on site at a large French computing hosting centre in the Paris, France area. This person, who may be a recent college graduate, should have knowledge of Kernel programming, and have an interest in learning how to work with file system specifics and be able to:
1.Perform services as requested by the company's team and support manager who will be onsite at the location.
2.Provide Lustre support and other services to the company's users, integrating and testing new Lustre based systems, developing new user and systems productivity tools and working with the company's users to identify bugs or desired new features to be logged with Intel for evaluation
This person will be required to work on Lustre file systems operating in differing computing environments, as well as be the main interface and liaison between the company and Intel's High Performance Data Division (HPDD) on targeted bug resolution of issues that will require updates to the code.
Primary duties / responsibilities
a.Deploy, tune and help oversee a seamless operation of Lustre
b.A core part of the role will be to gather information on Lustre issues as they occur and work with the onsite company team to log and potentially fix bugs with Intel's HPDD team
c.Help test and integrate new Lustre software into the company's Lustre environment
d.Help users understand how to best utilise Lustre for application performance goals
e.Perform and extend best practise to patch, build, install and tune Lustre file systems
f.Support benchmark activities and provide recommendations for file systems improvements
g.Communicate feature roadmaps and details for Lustre.
Profil recherché
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or Master's degree in a related field with some relevant experience.
Knowledge of the Lustre file system
Experience with C Language
Knowledge of file system internals (e.g. MPI[IO]) will be a plus.
Additional Qualifications:
Ability to trouble-shoot production file system issues. Ability to communicate clearly in French and English orally and in writing. Expertise in HPC and MPI-based applications a plus. Familiarity with storage systems a plus.
Knowledge of ZFS and Fortran a plus.
Due to the nature of work, this position requires European Citizenship and is dependent upon the required French authorities' security clearance for the company's systems access.
