The Product Specialist represents the portfolio management team during the entire sales process (from pre-sales to after-sales) to the BDUs, consultants and clients (French and international), in order to facilitate the growth of its assets under management.
Covering several competences, its mission is to provide technical support to the BDUs , and to allow portfolio managers to focus on managing their portfolios.
The mission of the Product Specialist is organized around four main activities :
1) Excellent knowledge of the asset class or sector represented :
- To gather information on the investment expertise, the investment processes, and performances
- Communicate on client needs to portfolio managers
- Contribute to the improvement of the investment process
2) To provide technical support to the business development units (BDUs) :
- Contribute to the development of the assets under management, and raise interest for the fixed income asset class with the sales teams,
- Be the interface between the commercial functions and the portfolio management in the preparation of client reports
- Organize and lead training sessions with the BDUs
- Communicate clearly and timely to customers, following a sales request; accompany sales in client meetings.
- Define an activity roadmap and build good relationships with the BDUs.
3) Provide supporting elements on the asset class (communication tools, pitch books - internal/external communication :
- Provide technical support to the marketing teams on the product offering and the investment strategy
- Contribute to Requests For Proposal (RFPs) and annual and quarterly client reporting
4) Perform competitor and peer group analysis, and contribute to strategic initiatives and product development.

Profile recherché
You will be educated to university degree level. CFA is desirable. You have a strong knowledge of the fixed income markets and / or marketing and sales skills.
An international experience of 4 to 5 years in asset management abroad is preferable. To be successful in this role, you have worked as either a portfolio manager, a product specialist, or in an institutional marketing or sales role.
You also have a very good knowledge of financial markets and active asset management (10 years minimum).
You are perfectly bilingual in English, or if English is your mother tongue, a minimum level in French is required.
Your listening skills, your analytical skills, your ability to see the big picture, and your strong editorial skills are all essential qualities.
In addition, the position requires a proactive personality and flexibility in the way you organize your work.
You are disciplined, curious, and commercial and have excellent interpersonal skills.
Travel is to be expected (maximum one week per month).

The objective of the Product Specialists’ Team within the Business Unit Fixed Income is to represent the fixed income expertise in all commercial activities, and to communicate these capabilities via marketing presentations, RFP’s, due diligence, and other periodical publications. He or she is the entry point for the Business Development Units (BDUs) and the marketing for everything related to the assets managed, and the explanation of their performance.
